This project is a mini-publication inspired by Kafka's Metamorphosis, using a Dada and collage art style to explore the themes of absurdity and dehumanization.
The design avoids literal beetle imagery, favouring abstract visuals and bold, overlapping text to evoke the chaotic transformation experienced by the protagonist.
Typography experimentation resulted in Garamond for body text, paired with various bold sans-serif fonts for headings, adding a layered, disorienting effect that mirrors the novel’s complex themes of identity and alienation. This approach captures the tension between the familiar and the grotesque central to Kafka’s narrative.
